Tuesday, November 27 is the second-annual Washington County Gives! event. This is a partnership effort between the Blair Area Community Foundation and the Chamber of Commerce. Similar to Omaha Gives, its purpose is to establish a focused day of giving to support our community’s non-profits. Go to www.WCNEGives.org to learn more or to make an online donation on November 27 from midnight to midnight. If you prefer to write a check or make a cash donation, the museum is a designated drop-off center. We will be open from 9-5 pm to receive your donation to any of the county’s non-profit organizations. Checks should be made to the Blair Area Community Foundation (BACF) with a designation to the Washington County Historical Association or non-profit of your choice.
Your charitable gift designated to the WCHA will go toward the purchase of a touch screen computer and video for our new gallery of pioneer history. This exhibit is in production now and is scheduled to open just after the new year. This interactive computer screen will provide modern technology to bring alive the history of Washington County to school tours and other visitors.
